On Monday, we managed to get a break in the afternoon and crashed out in bed, exhausted. That evening, the owners were doing the steak cooking and the steak list themselves (ie how the guests want their steaks cooked). The list hadn´t been done correctly and it caused chaos.

On Tuesday, the guests weren´t happy because there wasn´t enough fish at lunchtime even though some guests had extra fish in their boats but the guides had told them there was already enough! On Wednesday, one of the guests put wet hats and a jacket onto the top of the wood burner in the main lodge to dry. Fortunately, Kirsten smelt something burning and Helen saw the smoke and ran to get the stuff off the fire! So at least the main lodge wasn´t burned down (it´s all built out of wood!) That night, a black bear turned up outside the kitchen but the camera and video were in Winnie and would´ve meant walking passed the bear to get them!

On Thursday, the owner drove us into the nearest town, which is over an hour away. We had a few things on our shopping list, but we were also given a list of things to buy for the girls. One item was a pregnancy test! And, of course, we had to buy it without the owner finding out! Well, the town is really small so we had to come up with an excuse to ask where the drug store was. We managed to go in alone, but then the owner turned up and Helen had to hide the box whilst Kirsten distracted her so we could pay for it! On the way back we saw a moose and two young who crossed the road in front of us.

On Saturday, more guests arrived, some of them turned up early and wanted breakfast! Kirsten and I cooked ham and sauerkraut for evening meal and Kirsten made a pizza for us as Jess is a vegetarian and Lisa doesn´t eat pork, ham or bacon. After the meal, I mentioned to the owner that we had better take the chickens out of the freezer for tomorrow nights meal and the owner suddenly realised that we didn´t have any because she hadn´t bought any! So we had to have a change of meal plan.

Just after lunch on Sunday, a young lad dashed in and asked for help because there had been a car crash and his brother had a broken nose. The owner went out in one of the cars to help and after about half an hour, we found out that they were actually guests on their way here. Fortunately, his brother had just a bloody nose and nothing broken and his father wasn´t hurt, but they were all in shock.
